Burnham-On-Sea’s Hillview Carnival Club completed a successful carnival season last night (Saturday November 17th) in Glastonbury, by finishing second in its class overall.
The club’s ghost-themed cart, called ‘The Spook Returns’, has been cheered on by spectators over the past two weeks at each of the carnivals in Bridgwater, Burnham, Weston-super-Mare, North Petherton, Shepton Mallet, Wells and Glastonbury.
The cart came second in its category behind Bridgwater’s Marina Sydenham at each of the carnivals during the Guy Fawkes Carnivals season, including at last night’s Glastonbury event.
A Hillview Carnival Club spokesperson said: “We had a great cart this year and everyone is really pleased with how the season has gone.”
“Our children performing on the cart have been amazing and we thank them and everyone who has supported us.”
He added thanks to West Country Parks and The Windmill at Edithmead for their support as the key sponsor.
