Burnham-On-Sea football club mourns loss of former chairman

-

Members of Burnham United Football Club are this week mourning the loss of their former chairman, who has died after a fatal heart attack.

John Smith, 55, was the chairman of the club last season after previously running its bar for many years.

The club’s current Chairman, Spencer Dibble, this week paid his respects to Mr Smith.

In a statement on behalf of the club, he said: “John will always be remembered as a tireless worker for the club, who spent many countless hours working on the club’s behalf ensuring that the bar was run efficiently, the club’s records were kept up to date, and being there to generally help the club in whatever needed doing.”
