Burnham and Highbridge sixth form students at King Alfred School launch Christmas magazine

-

Burnham and Highbridge students at King Alfred School Academy’s Sixth Form Centre launched their Christmas magazine in the run-up to the festive period.

The ‘Spotlight’ magazine is run by a team of seven Year 12 students and aims to promote the sixth form to prospective Year 11 students.

Earlier in December, the Sixth Form was found to be the best local school for both Oxbridge and Russell Group university admissions, as reported here.

Now in the magazine, prospective students can find out more about why it is such a thriving centre with a wide range of content from quizzes and competitions to articles and feature pieces.

Principal Dan Milford said: “Well done to our brilliant students for this amazing Spotlight publication. TKASA Sixth Form Centre is such a brilliant place to study and provides a top class education to students, balanced with superb pastoral support and guidance. This magazine is another avenue for prospective students to see a glimpse of what a superb place this is to be.”

The Sixth Form has seen its numbers double in recent years becoming increasingly popular in the area and also Weston-super-Mare and Bridgwater.

There have been over £5 million of site improvements across the school and Sixth Form, including a stunning expanded new block.

As well as the amazing success of students getting their chosen universities they also make it into top apprenticeships all over the UK.
