Burnham and Highbridge Sea Cadets are set to celebrate their 50th anniversary with a nostalgic open day on Sunday October 10th.
The group is appealing to former members to get in touch and be a part of the celebrations.
A spokesman says: “Sea Cadets in Burnham-On-Sea & Highbridge are 50 years old in 2021 and we’re planning to mark the anniversary.”
“Established in 1971 and moving into our building in Cassis Close in 1974, the Sea Cadets in Burnham-On-Sea & Highbridge have become an important part of the local community.”
“To celebrate this fantastic event, the Sea Cadets are holding a 50th Celebration open day at the unit on 10th October 2021 from 10am-4pm with craft stalls, games, a hog roast, special guests and more.”
“We would like to invite all ex-cadets to join us on this day and members of the public to come along meet the team and tour the unit.”
“Have you got any Sea Cadet stories? Â Were you a cadet at the Burnham unit? What impact on your life did it have? We’re keen to gather your stories as part of our celebrations. Pictures, stories, and items of interest.” Contact Pete at umc.trustee2@bhseacadets.org
