Burnham-On-Sea police have this week urged to residents to be extra vigilant following a distraction burglary in Berrow.
Police were called to a property in the village on Saturday after a pensioner had a large sum of money stolen.
Sgt Ian Kennett told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The pensioner answered a cold caller at the door and was distracted while someone entered his home and took a quantity of money.”
“We would ask residents to be extra vigilant. I would add that this is an isolated incident and there have not been other distraction burglaries in the Burnham area for some time.”
Anyone with information about the incident should contact Burnham Police via the non-emergency number 101.
