Three Burnham-On-Sea burglaries in a week hit Boots, garage, charity

-

Burglars in Burnham-On-Sea have stolen thousands of pounds of stock in THREE late-night raids in just one week.

Burnham-On-Sea’s Boots the chemist, the Central Garage petrol station in Berrow Road and The Childrens Society charity have all been burgled over the last week.

Police are investigating whether the three burglaries are linked after the spate of crime.

Burnham’s branch of Boots The Chemist in The High Street was targeted early on Monday morning (April 3rd).

Police spokesman Craig Evry told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Police were called at 3.30am on Monday to Boots in the High Street to a burglary. Perfume and aftershave was stolen. A man was seen on CCTV at the scene and walked off along Abingdon Street.”

“Our forensics team have been helping with the investigation and anyone with information should call 101 and quote crime reference 5217072895.”

In the second incident, Burnham-On-Sea’s Central Garage in Berrow Road was broken into last Thursday when thousands of pounds of stock was stolen in a late-night break-in. Its door was smashed, as pictured here, to gain access.

“We are investigating a burglary at a service station in Berrow Road that occurred at 2am last Thursday,” a police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Four men were involved in a stolen vehicle. Rocks were used to force access through the door and a large quantity of tobacco and cigarettes was stolen.”

Anyone with information about the petrol station break-in should contact Burnham Police on 101, quoting crime reference 5217069651.

And in a third burglary, first reported here, mean-spirited burglars smashed their way through the door of Burnham-On-Sea’s Childrens Society charity shop early on Friday (March 31st), stealing stock.

The glass door of The Children’s Society in Burnham High Street was smashed in the early hours of Friday morning, as pictured above.

Police spokesman Wayne Baker told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We received reports that a charity shop was being broken into early on Friday morning in the High Street.”

“A number of items were reported missing from the shop and Police enquiries are continuing. Anyone with information should call 101 and quote reference 5217070567.”
