Spate of burglaries hit Burnham-On-Sea estate
Police are asking people living in the Stoppard Road area of Burnham-On-Sea – known as the Tesco Estate – to be vigilant after a spate of burglaries.
Burglars struck at six homes on the estate in the early hours of Friday, January 28, 2005.
Police launched an immediate appeal with a leaflet drop in the area asking for any witnesses to come forward.
Officers would like to thank the community for a positive response to this appeal.
Two people were arrested in connection with the burglaries but have been released pending further enquiries.
Among the items stolen in the burglaries were 20 bottles of spirits.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have been approached by someone selling bottles of spirits in suspicious circumstances.
Investigating officers have also recovered a FERM electric drill and would like to hear from anyone who has recently had one stolen.
Residents in the area are urged to remain vigilant and to contact the police immediately if they see or hear anything suspicious.
