Hinkley Point buoy washed up in high tides in Burnham-On-Sea

-

A marker buoy has been washed up onto Burnham-On-Sea’s beach during this week’s high tides.

The metal Fugro marker buoy was washed up near the low lighthouse after breaking free from its anchor near Hinkley Point. It has been used there during work to build the new jetty structure.

Burnham’s BARB Search & Rescue was called out by Coastguards to investigate the buoy amid concern that it could be a danger to shipping and it is due to be recovered over the next few days.
