Staff from Sedgemoor District Council and the Friends of Apex Park braved the cold weather to plant over a thousand bulbs in Highbridge’s Apex Park on Wednesday (9th November).
In an attempt to make Apex Park even more bright and colourful come the spring, three 25kg bags of daffodils and 75 bluebell bulbs were dug and planted by volunteers and staff around the park.
A spokesperson for Sedgemoor District Council said: “We would like to thank all of the Friends of Apex Park who braved the chilly weather and gave up their own time to help.”
“We would also like to thank Friends of Apex Park and local ward councillors, Mr and Mrs Roger and Janet Keen who kindly donated the bluebells to the park. We hope the new bulbs will add to the beautiful spring scenes in Apex and encourage even more visitors to enjoy this wonderful lake and park.”
