A group of 60 pupils from Berrow School donned hard hats and high visibility jackets when they visited a building site in Burnham-On-Sea this week.
The 5-7 year-olds are currently working on a ‘Houses and Homes’ project and when Persimmon found out, staff invited the youngsters to the Berrow Court development to get an up-close look at the construction.
Berrow School’s Year 1 Class Teacher told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We knew the children’s project about buildings would benefit from an expert getting involved and were thrilled when Persimmon invited us to the Berrow Court development.”
“It’s right on our doorstep and the tour of the site presented the pupils with the perfect opportunity for them to ask questions, see building tools and materials first hand and learn more about the changes taking place on site.”
Bob Simpson, site manager at Berrow Court, added: “It was obvious from the many questions the children asked that they were fascinated by what’s happening at the development and I’m sure they left Berrow Court knowing that their school work has been bought to life.”
