A town centre building society in Burnham-On-Sea got a new name and and a fresh look on Saturday (November 9th).
Workmen were taking down the Britannia Building Society branding from the branch in College Street as it became a Co-Operative Bank.
It comes after the Co-operative Bank announced earlier this year that it would be discontinuing the Britannia name during 2013 and re-branding all its branches following its merger with the building society four years ago.
The Co-operative has also closed 37 Britannia branches across the country as part of the rationalisation, however Burnham’s branch is safe.
