The Great Burnham Brew Off is set to make a return to Burnham-On-Sea’s Food & Drink Festival this October.
Home brewing has had a bit of a revival in recent years – along with other family favourites like baking and crafting – and sales of home brewing kits for cider, beer and wine have soared by 75% at some outlets year on year.
If you have been brewing your own you now have a chance to test it against other fermentors at The Great Burnham Brew Off, which is part of the Burnham-On-Sea Food & Drink Festival.
The competition will be free to enter and has classes for beer, liqueurs and infusions – like sloe gin and rhubarb vodka.
Festival Director Bev Milner Simonds said: “This is a fun competition, with all home brewers encouraged to look out a bottle of their top-tipple and bring it along to Cookery School on Princess Street before 12 noon on Saturday 22nd October for judging. Plus, we are still on the look out for judges – so if you think your palette might be up to it, please do drop us a line.”
