Brent Knoll Race 2018: Record 169 runners in gruelling race from Burnham to Brent Knoll and back

-

More than 160 runners from across the South West took part in a gruelling race from Burnham-On-Sea to the top of Brent Knoll and back on Sunday (November 25th).

The annual Brent Knoll Run was won by Phil Bridge, 22, of Wells City Harriers in a fast time of 36 minutes and 7 seconds, pictured with second-placed Christian Green and Simon Marchant.

The first local finisher was Will Bailey from Burnham-On-Sea in 42:46. Click here for the full Brent Knoll Race 2018 Results.

Race director Stuart Anderson said he was pleased with the impressive turnout from Burnham Harriers Running Club, pictured below, and from across the region.

“We had a great turnout of 169 finishers with lots of local runners – Harriers and others. A big thank you goes to the Burnham Lions and Alan Pendleton and family for marshalling, and also to all the Burnham Harriers who helped with the race,” he told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

The Brent Knoll Run has been held for more than 25 years, having originally started as an event attached to Brent Knoll’s summer fete.
