Over 250 people attended a formal ball near Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday evening (December 2nd) to raise funds for a local breast cancer support charity that’s celebrating its 20th year.
The annual Somerset Breast Cancer Now Ball, held at the Batch Country House in Lympsham, had a colourful ‘enchanted’ theme – and the audience dressed accordingly!
Doctor Chocolate provided the evening’s entertainment as the audience enjoyed a three-course meal followed by a successful charity auction, raffle and casino.
Organiser Holly Macbeth, from Somerset Breast Cancer Now, said the evening had been a great success.
She told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “What another amazing ball yet again – our ninth ball – and what a fabulous way to celebrate 20 years of the group and our half a million pounds fundraising achievement!”
“The venue at the Batch Country House in Lympsham was stunning again with amazing food. Our thanks go to James, Anna and the team there.”
“The brilliant Dr Chocolate band lifted the room as always along with the fabulous tunes from DJ Dave from Sedgemoor FM who supported the night.”
“We thank all our donators on the night and our fabulous guests for choosing to come to our sell-out ball. Well over half the tables have already been reserved for 2018 which is completely amazing!”
“We are thrilled to announce our final total for our Enchanted ball 2017! We have raised a staggering £10,327! The group are blown away with emotion & staggered at the huge generosity of our guests, donators & anyone who helped us put on the best ball yet! We couldn’t do these events without your continued support and as long as you want us to host these events we will. I know my mum will be so very proud of everyone involved & im truly honoured to carry on”
“Huge personal thanks go to Neil, aka Buster, for donating his time and his outstanding comparing, he was brilliant, and to my Breast Cancer Now family. They all worked so hard for this ball, all voluntary in their own time.”
At the expense of missing out on family and friend activities, I’m so incredibly proud of Becky, Tori, Iaine, Victoria, Martin, Eugene, Ian and John – well done team you smashed it!”
“We thank you once again for your generous support and we hope you all had a truly ‘enchanted’ evening.”
