Brean Splash to get £170,000 upgrade with new pool and water slide

-

Brean Splash is set to be given a £170,000 upgrade this year with a new waterslide and new pool.

The work to add a new 0.8m-deep toddler pool at the facilities at Brean Leisure Park is due to begin this week.

The toddler pool will be located at the very end of the main pool hall and will replace the current splash park.

A second indoor waterslide is also set to be built, called the ‘Disco’, which includes selectable disco tracks that will be played whilst swimmers ride down the slide with lights embedded into the slide’s interior!

Kieran Spottiswoode, the park’s Leisure Director, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’ve seen a real growth in the number of swimmers that are enrolled in our swim school with the younger swimmer section growing really fast.”

“The shallower pool that we will be adding is perfect for younger swimmers to learn in and enjoy their first taste of swimming.”

“The water will also be able to be maintained at an optimum temperature for babies and young children.”

As well as the new toddler pool, Brean Splash is also adding a second indoor waterslide that will be called the ‘Disco’.

The slide will include selectable disco tracks that will be played whilst swimmers ride the slide with lights embedded into the slide’s interior to create a disco feel.

It is hoped the new slide will be ready for the Easter holidays. The work will take several weeks to complete and the main 25m pool will continue to open as normal.
