A huge search operation was launched along Burnham’s coastline on Friday afternoon (August 5th) after a 44-year-old man went missing
Stephen Ball – who police believe is in a depressed state – went missing at about 1pm after leaving his girlfriend’s house in Westonzoyland.
A search of the beach between Burnham-On-Sea and Brean was launched, involving crews from Burnham and Weston Coastguards and BARB, plus an RAF helicopter.
Police spokeswoman Cath Foster told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Police believe that Mr Ball may be in the Westonzoyland area or could have travelled to the Burnham-On-Sea area.”
“He is described as a white man, 5ft 10ins tall with a shaven head, and is thought to be wearing a white T-shirt, dark blue shorts and green shoes/plimsolls. He may also be carrying a dark blue hooded top. Stephen is believed to be depressed and may appear confused or distressed.”
