Huge 200-metre wide Lennon memorial is created on Brean beach

-

An artist who has been creating huge sand art displays on Brean beach in recent weeks has completed his biggest design yet.

Simon Beck spent over six hours creating the huge 200-metre circular design on the sand next to Brean Down.

Simon, from Bracknell in Berkshire, pictured right, said: “The intention was to draw a reproduction of the John Lennon memorial in NYC’s Central Park, to be the biggest drawing I have yet made on the sand – a tad short of 200m in diameter.”

He told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s so rewarding to look down on the finished work from the top of Brean Down when it’s finished before it gets washed away by the tide.”

Simon was recently featured here by Burnham-On-Sea.com and has appeared in the national media for his snow art. He intends to publish a book this autumn featuring some of his best designs.
