Over 70 racers ready to roar into action at annual 2010 Brean Rally

-

The smell of burning rubber and the sound of screeching tyres will be in the air at Brean later this month when dozens of teams take part in the village’s annual car rally.

Brean Leisure Park will host the popular K&R Mitsubishi Stages Rally on January 30th and 31st.

With a present entry of more than 70 competitors gathered from all parts of the South West and beyond, the organisers are expecting some close competition throughout the classes.

Top seeded drivers already entered are Peter Lloyd, the winner of the 2009 race in his Subaru Impreza S12 WRC, Dave Kynaston in his Audi A3 Quatro, Steve Furzeland in his Subaru Impreza WRC and Karl Broad in his MG Metro 6R4.

Organised by Club Rallysport West, the rally is this year supporting the charity Help for Heroes.

The event will again welcome spectators on both days, with covered seated grandstands and heated al-fresco snacks available in the spectator area. Indoor catering facilities will also be available.

Spectators will be admitted to the park over both days of the rally by way of a car parking charge only, which will include a souvenir rally programme. The park opens both days from 8am.
