Delighted Exeter duo David Kynaston and co-driver Andy Russell won the Brean Rally for the second year running on Sunday afternoon (January 27th).
Two days of exciting racing at Brean Leisure Park saw the pair, pictured, cling onto a slender 1-second lead from Saturday’s first six stages and they eventually won by over 90 seconds.
“David and Andy were in blistering form throughout the weekend and hardly made a mistake – it was great to watch,” said a spokesman for Weston Motor Club, which organised the event.
The Exeter duo finished at the top of the leader board in their Audi A3 Quattro after twelve stages of exciting action.
In second spot were 2006 winners Steve Furzeland and Yvonne Furzeland in their Subaru Impreza WRC. In third position were Dave Parnell and Pete Bold in a Ford Escort Mk1 – full results can be accessed here.
The popular rally – now in its 12th year – attracted large numbers of spectators, thanks in part to bright and dry weather throughout the weekend.
