This Audi A3 Quattro, driven by David Kynaston and Andy Russell from Exeter, was the provisional leader of the 2007 Brean Rally at the end of the event’s first day on Saturday (January 27th).
Despite bitterly cold temperatures, large crowds of spectators turned out to watch Saturday’s six stages as 85 teams competing on the tarmac course at Brean Leisure Park.

Kynaston and Russell held a provisional 30-second lead over second placed team Peter Lloyd and Graham Handley from Weston-super-Mare in their Impreza S9.
The popular annual rally – now in its 11th year – continues to attract the interest of top teams, including 2006 winners Steve and Yvonne Furzeland in their Impreza World Rally Car, 2005 winners Duncan Holder and Nick Reeves in their Metro 6R4.
Three Burnham-On-Sea rally teams are taking part including Dave Boden and Sara Wills, George Mullins and Des Wood, and Steve Leigh and Nick Parsons (all pictured below).
A further six stages are due to be held on Sunday when day two of the rally is held. Spectators are admitted to the venue by car parking only, which costs £15 per car and includes a souvenir rally programme.
