A multi-million pound project to create a new swimming pool and cinema complex in Brean has this week been given a green light by district council planners.
Construction work is already underway at Brean Leisure Park, as pictured, with the first phase of work scheduled to be completed this summer.
Leisure Park owner Richard House told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The first phase will see a new 25 metre indoor pool being built with new changing rooms. It will open later this summer and may also be available during the winter months for schools and groups.”
“Phase two will see a ‘splash pad’ being created for youngsters plus a water play area for older children. We’ll also be covering in the current outdoor pool in 2011 and in 2012 a huge new ‘splash tower’ will be installed.”
He added that the final phase will be the conversion of the existing indoor pool into further changing rooms, a fitness suite, a new café and a 4D cinema.
