A new £1.5m swimming complex in Brean is on track to open its doors for the first time next month, creating 10 new jobs.
Burnham-On-Sea.com took a first look inside the new Brean Splash waterpark at Brean Leisure Park this week, as pictured, to see the new facilities which include a 25 metre, six-lane indoor pool.
The new park is due to open by Easter and includes an indoor splash park with shooting water jets. It also incorporates the existing water slides and river rapids.
Richard House, the park’s managing director, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Over the winter period we have continued to invest in the product we offer to our customers and this April will see the opening of our new £1.5m swimming pool complex.”
“The complex features a 25m 6 lane pool, indoor splash park with shooting water jets as well as incorporating the existing water slides and river rapids. The attraction will be open to local residents as well as holiday guests and will provide swimming lessons.”
The waterpark will create an additional ten new jobs in addition to those announced last week by the leisure park, as reported first by Burnham-On-Sea.com here.
The second phase of the pool’s expansion will include a new wave pool – incorporating a surfing area and a new slide tower – which will open in 2013.
The new pool has been installed by Myrtha Pools of Italy at the park and construction began last spring. The existing pool has stayed open throughout the building work to minimise disruption.
