A police helicopter and Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards carried out a full search of Brean Down during the early hours of today (Monday) amid concern for a missing person.
Coastguards were initially called to Brean Down Fort at 11.45pm on Sunday (June 10th) after reports that the missing man was in a ‘distressed’ state.
“An extensive search was carried out with police officers and a helicopter, but no-one was found,” Burnham Coastguard Officer Steve Bird told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“The incident was closed when we were satisfied that no-one was on the Down. The matter was left with the police.”
