A tractor had to be used to retrieve this car and trailer after they became stranded in mud on Brean beach on Saturday afternoon (July 30th).
A Brean farmer hauled the Ford Mondeo and its trailer from the mudflats shortly after 4pm.
“The motorist had driven several hundred metres down the beach towards the tideline to try and launch his dinghy when he got stuck despite being warned about the dangers,” Brean Beach Warden Dave Furber told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
Fortunately, the tractor was nearby and managed to tow the vehicle to safety before the incoming tide reached it. The incident served as another warning about the dangers of driving vehicles onto the mudflats.
