Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards and a crew from BARB Search & Rescue were called to Brean beach on Monday evening (July 21st) amid concern for a dog walker and a family on the mudflats.
Crews were alerted at 7.30pm after a woman was reported to be struggling through mud to reach a stranded dog on the mudflats at Brean.
The teams were quickly on scene and confirmed that the lady and her dog, from Burnham, were unhurt.
As the crews were leaving to return to Burnham, they were called to investigate a family in potential difficulty on the mudflats at Berrow. The BARB hovercraft flew out to check on their welfare.
Earlier in the day, Coastguards had also been contacted to reach a dog in the River Brue.
