Boy racer, 15, caught illegally speeding again after incident on M5 at Burnham-On-Sea

-

One of the UK’s worst boy racers has been caught driving someone else’s car on a main road for the second time at the age of 15 years old.

The teenager, who was initially caught by Police driving on the M5 motorway past Burnham-On-Sea last year, was spotted driving while disqualified on the A38 in Plymouth — two years before he is legally allowed on the road.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had been banned from the road earlier this year.

The teenager, from Plymouth, appeared before magistrates this week to admit taking a Vauxhall Zafira without consent on June 21st.

He also admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance on the A38 on the same day.

Plymouth Youth Court handed him a 12-month Youth Rehabilitation Order. He will be under probation supervision and must do 60 hours reparation – similar to unpaid work – and a victim awareness course.

The boy was given another 21-month driving ban and must sit an extended test before he can legally drive.

The boy appeared in court in February to plead guilty to offences committed when he was 14. He admitted driving dangerously on the M5 between junctions 23 and 22 near Burnham-On-Sea on November 30th, 2018.
