Visitors flock to beaches in Burnham to walk off festive excesses

-

Bright winter weather attracted crowds of walkers to beaches in the Burnham-On-Sea area on Boxing Day.

Large numbers of visitors took advantage of the dry, bright conditions to walk off their festive excesses in Burnham, as pictured here, and also at Brean and Berrow.

Burnham Pavilion owner Louise Parkin told Burnham-On-Sea.com the seafront and beaches had seen throngs of walkers. “Today’s good weather has brought out lots of Boxing Day visitors – it’s been great to see it so busy,” she said.

Meanwhile, staff at the Brean Down cafe, run by the National Trust, also experienced a busy day with the car park there full of vehicles from walkers.
