Members of a Burnham-On-Sea boxing club wer this week punching the air with delight after receiving hundreds of pounds from Somerset County Council.
Titans Amateur Boxing Club, which is based at the town’s youth centre in Cassis Close, received £250 from Highbridge County Councillor John Woodman’s Community Fund.
A cheque was handed over to the club’s coach and secretary, Lisa Stacey, as pictured here.
Lisa told Burnham-On-Sea.com that the club was delighted with the cash, adding: “The funds will be used to purchase a new gym timer and some additional speed ropes. We’re grateful to Cllr Woodman for choosing us to receive the community funds.”
Newcomers interested in joining the club are welcome to go along to a training session any Monday or Friday from 6.15pm–7.30pm at the BAY Club. Boys and girls from the age of nine years are welcomed.
