A Highbridge-based boxing club has this week received an award in recognition of the work it does in the community.
Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Ken Smout visited King Alfred Ameteur Boxing Club where he presented coach Roger Cross with the community award.
“Working closely with youths in the town, this club provides many young people with a positive focus and purpose,” Ken told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Our community appreciates any public activity which encourages young people to take up sporting activities like this.”
“This is not only a benefit for us today, but it is also an investment for the future. I congratulate Roger and his volunteers on their efforts and wish the King Alfred Ameteur Boxing Club all the best in the future.”
