Burnham-On-Sea’s free music and performing arts festival, BOSfest, returns to the town centre today (Saturday).
After the success of last year’s festival the BOSfest team aee bringing two days of free entertainment to Burnham’s town centre on Saturday September 1st and the Manor Gardens on Sunday 2nd.
Today, there will be live music taking place in a number of venues in the town, including The Princess Theatre with a great line-up including local band Vermin, plus Funke and the Two Tone Baby, Nick Parker, local Pilton Party winners Some Villains and culminating in Black Water County (pictured below) with other great acts in between.
The Victoria Hotel will see the likes of Nick Elswood reuniting with for Lone Sharkz bandmate Dave Gibson, Little Secrets, Recovering Satellites and Irie Fire and more.
During the day, Burnham-On-Sea library will host children’s entertainment from Nutty Noah, poetry and local authors such as Francis Evesham and Sonny Topham and a number of fabulous Poets who will be reciting their works.
On The Community Stage, there will be dancing to include Salsa and line dancers, singing with the Rock Choir, drumming including the fab Mendip drummers and lots more from local performers.
The festival will also welcome over 20 street artists including Andrew Burns Colwill, S P Zero (pictured above) and John D’oh, plus amazing local artist Damian Nicholson, among many others. “There will be lots of new street art at the back of The Princess and around the town cnetre,” said Sophie Nicholson.
The Ritz will also have comedians within the ‘Laughter in your Lunch hour’ Slot including Charlie Baker who has appeared in Never Mind the Buzzcocks and The IT Crown and Noel James, a finalist on this year’s Britain’s Got Talent, followed by some great music ranging from local artist Tim dean to JD Revelator and Harry and the Gondolas and others.
Fairstart Nursery will have free children’s crafts and activities going on through the day.
The Vape Escape will be hosting a number of Dj/electronic music sets throughout the day from mainly local artists including Big Smokin Joe Rob Bragg B2B Tom Beech and others.
There will also be a street magician, plus Kia our Circus Skills lady, and a Kidzone will be present and there will a range of stalls.
On Sunday 2nd September there will be musical entertainment all afternoon in the Manor Gardens to include Lauren Jaye, Joe and Nathaniel Topping, Eastertown, Numb, and The Leylines Trio, pictured top of this page, stalls Kidzone, circus skills, bouncy castle and more.
“All in all an amazing few days. It’s free for anyone who wants to attend, we can’t wait!” said organiser Tanya Dyer.
Various road closures will be in force across Burnham during Saturday.
