A book shop in Burnham-On-Sea High Street has raised over £2,200 for charity since opening in May.
Burnham Rotary Club is running the seasonal book store at 28b High Street, between West Coast Properties and Burnham Goldsmiths.
The shop, which is open from Monday to Saturday inclusive from 10am to 4pm, has benefited from a steady flow of visitors.
Rotarian George Moon told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Our very successful charity bookshop has now raised in excess of £2,250 after covering expenses such as electricity.”
“It is expected to remain open every weekday, subject to staff availability, until at least the end of August and possibly into September.”
“The Rotary Club is grateful to the owners and letting agent Gary Berryman for their support in this venture, and to those who have donated books for sale.”
He added: “The bookshop is fully stocked and due to limitations of storage space the club regrets it is unable to accept any further donations of books for the time being.”
Funds raised are being used to support various local, national and international projects chosen by the Rotary.
