Burnham-On-Sea locations take a starring role in ‘Murder on the Levels’, a second book in the murder mystery series by town author Frances Evesham.
The new book is set in Somerset and features cake baker and chocolate maker Libby Forest.
Her quest takes her from the bakery in Exham on Sea, a fictional Burnham, to the narrow lanes, recently flooded villages and rhynes of the Levels, to discover who killed two members of a cycling club, and why.
As Libby discovers, the rhynes can be traps for unwary drivers on the quiet lanes of the Levels.
Libby Forest runs into danger as she sets out to solve the mystery, save her bakery and rescue her career.
“The green fields, rolling hills and sandy beaches of the West Country provide the perfect setting for crime, intrigue and mystery,” says Frances.
Frances has lived in Burnham for over 20 years and loves to write mystery stories. Over the years, she’s been a speech therapist, a professional communicator and a road sweeper and has also worked in the criminal courts. Now, she says she loves to “walk in the country and breathe sea air in Somerset.”
