Police say ‘body parts’ on Brean beach were not human after all

-

Police have said this week that following extensive tests police they can confirm that a set of ‘male body parts’ washed up on Brean beach were in fact not human.

Julie Edwards said she her dog had found a set of male genitals washed up along the tideline in September.

But Police have since carried out scientific tests on the item and found they are not suspicious.

On Thursday, a spokeswoman for Avon and Somerset Police said in a statement: “Tests have now been concluded and we have determined that the item is not human. The matter is therefore not being treated as suspicious.”

Julie had been walking her dog, Molly, along the sands at Brean on Monday September 25th when the object had been found. She alerted Brean’s beach warden who reported the discovery to Police.

The matter is now closed.
