The body of a young man found in Cheddar Gorge on Wednesday has been confirmed as that of missing teenager Rasmus Barlow.
Rasmus, 16, from Cheddar, was reported missing on Monday by his father – prompting an appeal by police for residents in the Burnham to look out for him.
Sadly, however, a member of the public found his body at the base of a cliff on Wednesday.
A police spokesman said: “His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the Coroner’s office. Family liaison officers are continuing to support Rasmus’ family at this difficult time.”
Police had said his disappearance was “extremely out of character” and they were concerned for his welfare.
