Sea anglers in Burnham-On-Sea took to their boats for an annual competition at the weekend.
Burnham Boat Owners Sea Angling Association held its annual Thornback Trophy competition when anglers reeled in a range of catches over the course of nine hours.
Stephen Saxby was declared the winner for the best specimen after catching this 5lb 9.5oz bass in the estuary off Burnham.
The group’s Pete Nicholson, who ran the competition, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “There are plenty of fish out there this year, with lots of Thornback, Smoothound and Bull Huss. It should be a good season.”
