This was the unusual scene in Burnham-On-Sea’s Queen’s Drive on Sunday evening (October 17th) after a fishing boat came off the back of a 4×4 and careered into a roadside ditch.
The unfortunate end to a day’s fishing occurred at 5.10pm when a Nissan 4×4 lost its trailer and boat while travelling out of Burnham towards the M5 motorway.
Police were called to the scene, opposite the town sign, to check on the safety of the vehicle’s occupants and police tape was placed around the boat.
