The owner of this BMW was lucky to scramble free after careering off a road into a rhyne at Mark, near Burnham-On-Sea, this morning (Monday, November 30th).
Police and fire crews were called to the Causeway at 6.50am, as pictured here, after the driver of the high-performance vehicle lost control and skidded into the deep water.
The driver, who is from Burnham-On-Sea, managed to scramble out of the vehicle even though it was partially submerged.
The accident occurred during slippery driving conditions following overnight rain.
One fire engine from Burnham-On-Sea was called to check that no-one else was trapped inside the vehicle.
Police spokeswoman Claire Stanley told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Police were called to a single vehicle accident involving one person at 6.50am. The road was not closed.”
