Over 80 classic American hot rods, trucks, bikes and classic vehicles will roar through Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge today (Saturday, September 8th) in a mass convoy for charity.
Members of the Blue Ridge Runners will leave West Huntspill at around 12 mid-day and then travel through Highbridge and Burnham-On-Sea, travelling along Burnham Road and into Oxford Street.
The convoy will head along Burnham’s College Street, and then drive along The High Street at around 12.30pm, up Pier Street and onto Burnham’s Esplanade, driving to the Sailing Club.
The vehicles will then head back along the seafront in a northerly direction, before moving along Berrow Road and being driven to Brean.
“With horns blaring and a long line of vehicles on show, this annual event always attracts lots of interested onlookers,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The vehicles will also be on display at the Classic, Custom and American Auto Club Show throughout Sunday which is open to the public from 10am in a field in West Huntspill opposite The Woodpile.
Entry on the Sunday will be £3 per adult, with children free of charge. Proceeds will go to Burnham’s BARB Search & Rescue.
The Blue Ridge Runners were formed in 1989 to link up motoring enthusiasts from across the South West who own hot rods, trucks and other unusual vehicles. Thousands of pounds are raised for local charities from the group’s events.
