Volunteers launched a big clean-up operation in Highbridge on Sunday ahead of the town being assessed by judges from the Britain In Bloom competition today (Monday, July 9th).
Members of Highbridge in Bloom were out in force alongside more than a dozen youngsters from Highbridge Dreamscheme.
They conducted a last-minute tidy-up of the town ahead of judging taking place on Monday afternoon (9th July).
“It is hoped we have prepared a comprehensive route around Highbridge and the town centre, showing its best features and taking in the new projects achieved this year,” organiser Pam Lyes told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Those who have been and are still involved with the various projects will be meeting the judges at the various sites so that they can give them an insight into how they work and their involvement.”
“We have entered seven ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood’ entries, four of which will be judged tomorrow, and the other three on Wednesday, and we wish them all well.”
“We are grateful to Burnham and Highbridge Town Council for their assistance this year.”
“Thanks also must go to Keith, Robin and Scott and all the other helpers from Sedgemoor District Council’s Clean Surroundings team for all their hard work in getting the town ready for the big day, despite having to cope with so much rain whilst doing so.”
She thanked all those who had been involved in the clean-up operation, including Highbridge Dreamscheme and Groves Xtreme Clean, which helped without charge.
