Over 150 green-fingered residents from across Burnham gathered in the town council’s chambers on Friday night (October 20th) to receive dozens of Burnham and Highbridge In Bloom awards.

The annual competition is held every summer to recognise the efforts of residents and businesses who brighten up the two towns with flowers and floral displays.

Organiser Dave Perry told Burnham-On-Sea.com that the quality of entries had again been very high this year – although judges from the South West In Bloom competition had plenty of advice about to improve the overall standard of the towns. Burnham Mayor Eric Gill praised residents for taking part: “Your efforts are very much appreciated by the town council,” he said.
