Big crowds flocked to Brent Knoll’s annual summer fete on Saturday (June 11th) when a traditional line-up of music, games and stalls was laid on.

The event featured the Brent Knoll Primary School Dancers, Burnham U3A Ukulele Band and the Chalice Morris Men.

“Of special note this year was the 100th Anniversary celebrations of the W.I. – they started in the village in 1927 which is not quite a century here, but not far off – and the 50th Anniversary of the Good Companions,” said John Page, Chairman of the Village Fete Committee.

“Both of these organisations were represented by a special photographic display in the village hall, some pictures taking us back to the very early days of both.”

Opening the event this year was Alan Castle, who has been with the Good Companions for many years and is also known for his Tai-Chi classes and his membership of the Short Mat Bowling Club.
