A busy tourist attraction at the foot of Brean Down has this week unveiled proposals to expand its operation.
Brean Down Bird Garden, which is based at Brean Cove (pictured), has submitted a planning application to extend its facilities in time for next summer’s tourist season.
It wants to build a new two-storey extension to the West of its current building which will allow it to extend its shop and introduce additional toilet facilities, along with a new bird rearing and viewing room.
The plans also make provision for extra space for staff, a one bedroom flat, and an extension to the existing premises.
The plans are due to be examined in detail by Sedgemoor’s Development Control Committee in the New Year.
