Burnham-On-Sea bins collection changes for Xmas and New Year

-

Rubbish collections for households in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge have changed over the Christmas and New Year holiday period.

Somerset Waste Partnership says pick-ups that are due this week (Monday 25th-Friday 29th December) will take place two days later than usual.

“This week’s collections will all be two days late, so Monday’s pick-ups will take place on Wednesday 27th December, Tuesday’s pick-ups will be on Thursday 28th, and Friday pickups will be made on Sunday 31st December,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

He added that pick-ups due to take place during the week of Monday 1st January 2018 to Friday 5th January will be running one day later.

From Monday 8th January onwards, usual bin collections will resume as normal.

Garden waste collections will not take place during the period Monday 25th December to Friday 5th January, and will resume from Monday 8th January 2018 on the usual days.

Decoration-free natural Christmas trees under 6ft should be composted and can be taken to Highbridge’s Isleport recycling centre or, if you pay for garden waste collections, put them out on your usual garden waste collection day from 8th January.

Highbridge’s recycling centre is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, but is open all other days to its usual schedule. Vehicle permit conditions apply as usual over the festive season.
