Biker injured in accident at Burnham-On-Sea’s M5 junction

A woman suffered facial injuries after being hurt in a motorbike accident next to Burnham-On-Sea’s motorway junction on Wednesday evening (September 29th).

The southbound entry road onto the M5 was closed for more than an hour while emergency services were at the scene.

“A lady in her 30s was taken to Weston General Hospital with facial and other injuries,” ambulance spokesman Dave Rogers told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Two fire engines from Burnham were called to the accident shortly after 8.30pm after passing motorists reported seeing the woman’s bike alight.

Fire spokeswoman Suzie Izzard addd: “The bike burst into flames and was 100 per cent damaged. Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish it. The junction did not fully re-open until 9.40pm.
