Bikers roar through Highbridge on fundraising ride for air ambulance

-

A long line of motorbikes roared through Highbridge on Sunday (April 8th) at the start of a fundraising bike run in aid of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

Over 20 Somerset Motorcycle Group members took part in the charity ride out, which started from the town’s Bristol Bridge Inn and headed to Minehead and back.

Organiser Norman Templeman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a great run – we had a smooth ride to Minehead and we were all pleased the forecasted rain stayed away.”

“When we arrived at Minehead, people were waving to us as we rode along the seafront. When we got to the Harbour Cafe, we were met by Jane, her staff and customers, who made us very welcome.”

Some of the riders dressed in Easter-themed fancy dress costumes to add to the fun feel to the event, which raised almost £150 for the air ambulance.

The next bike run is on May 13th, starting at 10.30am from Highbridge’s Bristol Bridge Inn, in aid of Burnham-based hovercraft rescue charity BARB. To sign up, contact the group on 07759 907514.
