The safety of youngsters at Berrow School has been boosted this week with the donation of new fluorescent jackets.
The clothing have been given to the Reception and Year 1 pupils to help increase their safety when travelling from the school on dark winter evenings.
Heather Hector, headteacher at Berrow Primary School, has thanked house developer Persimmon Homes for donating the jackets.
She told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “At this time of year, it’s crucial children are kitted out in bright or reflective clothing and Persimmon’s fluorescent jackets, which show up in dull or misty weather and can be picked up by car headlights, will help increase their visibility.”
Nicola Reed, sales and marketing director for Persimmon Homes Severn Valley, added: “Fluorescent jackets are a simple way for children to stay visible during the winter months and we are delighted to be playing a part in helping to improve their safety.”
