Two groups were handed financial boosts by Berrow Parish Council on Tuesday evening (May 19th).
The council’s chairwoman, Jenny Bentley, handed over £500 to Berrow Primary School and a further £50 to local police officers towards their Horse Watch scheme.
Heather Hector of Berrow Primary School is pictured right receiving the cheque from Jenny. The money will be used to help fund the school’s crossing patrol.
A further cheque of £50 was presented to Beat Officer Andy Beake and Beat Sergeant Steve Lawrence on behalf of Avon and Somerset Police Constabulary, as pictured at the top of this page.
The Horse Watch scheme has been set up to prevent, reduce and detect equine related crime in the county.
The council makes the grant donations every year at this time when it holds its annual general meeting.
