Natural England expert to lead guided walk at Berrow Nature Reserve

-

Free guided walks around Berrow’s Nature Reserve are to be held by the conservation team from Natural England this evening (Tuesday).

The event, to be held from 7pm, will be led by Bob Corns from Natural England (pictured above).

Those wishing to attend this free event should meet at the Nature Reserve Car Park accessed opposite Sandy Glade Caravan Park in Coast Road, Berrow.

Berrow Dunes supports one of the most diverse floras in Somerset with at least 270 species of flowering plant being recorded on site.

The nature reserve is also one of the best sites for moths and recently three rare species were recorded, including the Pinion Spotted Pug Moth last recorded in Somerset in 1868!

Sedgemoor District Council, in partnership with Natural England and Berrow Conservation Group, currently manage the reserve and wish to raise awareness of the wildlife importance of this site of special scientific interest.
