Plans for new multi-million pound Berrow health centre go on show

-

Detailed plans for a major new multi-million pound medical centre in Berrow were on show for the first time at a special open evening in the village on Wednesday evening (January 30th).

Dozens of residents attended the meeting in Berrow Village Hall to hear more about the proposed Berrow Health Campus in Brent Road.

Berrow Parish Council has recently received the planning application from Sedgemoor District Council and held the open evening to view residents a chance to see the plans and give their comments.

Parish council clerk Lynn Smith told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a positive, balance meeting – we had a good attendance of over 30 people who were both for and against the scheme.”

Representatives from the project’s architects, GVA Grimley, were also at the meeting to answer questions from the public.

The plans are due to be decided in the next few months.

Burnham-On-Sea.com was first to report on the scheme last summer when it was announced there are three elements to the scheme – an additional medical centre and pharmacy, a new elderly psychiatric day hospital to replace Berrow’s Little Court; and a brand new NHS dentist.
