Berrow Juniors Under 16’s have played their final match as a youth team together after more than 10 years together.
Many of the young players have been together since Under 5’s – and they played their final game together on Sunday against Long Ashton JFC.
After going 1-0 down within 10 minutes of the game starting, the youngsters showed their fighting spirit by pulling the game back to win 4-1 following two goals a piece from Joe North and Will Andrews.
Manager Steve Puddy said: “Hopefully we will now finish third in the first division of the Woodspring Junior League Under 16’s, which they look forward to celebrating at the club’s presentation evening on 19th May at Brean Leisure Park.”
“It’s been a great end to the season and we are now looking forward to next year re-forming the Berrow men’s team in the Weston and District League under the same managers Steve Puddy and Jaea Wilkinson, Berrow Athletic Under 16’s Manager.”
